OVERVIEW
Glossier x Sonny Angel is the cobranded mockup project I created for my senior thesis. It is a limited-edition skincare essentials collection that merges Glossier’s minimalistic beauty with the playful charm of Sonny Angels. This idea was motivated by the trending love for blind boxes and the destigmatization of self-care on social media.
PURPOSE
ROLE
During my last semester at NYU, I took on this project to test my personal design capabilities to see if I could skillfully produce a new cobranded product between Glossier x Sonny Angel as if I were leading an actual in-house project.
GOAL
Build an immersive brand experience through brand design and research that feels authentic, brand-ready, and believable that appeals to young women and skincare beginners
Avoid perpetuating a problematic standard of beauty by implementing diverse perspectives and feedback into the design process
DESIGN APPROACH
Without a team, I had to ensure I could manage this project while balancing full-time school and my part-time, so I created a MoSCoW priority chart to organize my deliverables.

My process was constant iterative design mixed with thorough market research to understand the overlapping communities of Glossier and Sonny Angel, focusing on their shared values of minimalism, emotional connection, and their FOMO collectible culture.

After researching past Sonny Angel collaborations and their regular series, I accounted for both brand consistency and manufacturing constraints into the design.
The visual direction is inspired by Glossier and Sonny Angel's market overlap of young women and femmes, along with popular "soft girl" and selfcare aesthetics.
